During this lock down I have been struggling to find ways to make my creative practice enjoyable. So, I have decided to start composing. However, instead of writing for a live band, I'm trying to learn how to produce. The experience has been very rewarding, and very, very helpful to my creative practice.
My drummer friend has helped me with writing some drum patterns. I have discovered that at the moment, my style is leaning more towards alternative hip hop and neo soul. Whatever those genres mean.
Recently I accidentally captured myself waiting on zoom to teach a student. I wrote some music to go with this clip. If you listen till the end, you'll hear where I drew inspiration from for the harmonic progression.
